Taking a break in Northern New Mexico where we are on a combo R&R and buying trip.
The 60's are still alive here and the hippie vibe is everywhere in the little villages surrounding Santa Fe. Also enjoying the 60 degree temps! Unseasonably warm for this time of year, and lucky for us.
Bringing back lots of goodies.
Peace and Love and see you soon.

We know that the annual ritual of going sockless is now a big fashion issue according to Bill Cunningham of the New York Times. His latest On the Street column even has a video where he discusses this new trend in menswear. When Cunningham talks about it, you know to pay attention!
We also know there's a practical side to going sockless. In wet, humid weather like we've been having, the insides of shoes get sticky - and smelly. That isn't so fashionable but there is a solution: invisible socks. No, no not the old sockettes that showed outside of your shoe top like the example below.
Remember those? You saved your shoes but lost any ...

Spirited style is visiting J. Seitz on Saturday April 27 in more ways than one. We've restyled our menswear department to show off all the great Spring merchandise, and we're celebrating it with a single malt whiskey tasting from 4-6 p.m.
Joining the racks of Relwen, Billy Reid, Hartford France, Lacoste and Mason's, our friends from County Wines on Route 202 will be there pouring four fine single-malt whiskeys from Scotland. These whiskeys seem to pair beautifully with some of our favorite new merchandise.
Two of the four whiskeys are from the small island of Islay off the Western coast of Scotland. The island only has 3000 inhabitants but has eight distilleries producing some of the most memorable .........

The Year of the Snake began in during February but since we live in New England, we all know that snakes don't come out until it's warmer. Might want to rethink avoiding them entirely because the meaning of the snake has some cool things attached to it. In Chinese lore, it means mystery as well as great acumen, divination and even the ability to distinguish herbs (a handy attribute). A snake in the house means delight so, perhaps, snake images are good to have around. Oh, and the snake can also indicate wealth, which we all want, of course.
We've got loads of snakey things in the store these days, and you might want to check them out. Happiness, wealth, and knowing a good bunch of ......

Mark your calendars for this Saturday afternoon because we are hosting a very special event from 3-6 p.m. in the store.
We will have a special exhibit of new artwork from Ron Norsworthy, one of the busiest designers and artists around. Ron will be in the store with his amazing gilded ink blot pieces and they are dynamite. He's done these especially for us all with stag imagery, and those of you who know the store already know how we love stags. The pieces are beautifully framed, original works of art and are a must see. In fact, they are a must own!
Ron is a super busy guy and is responsible for numerous design projects, including many notable music videos, sets, ...

Even with some snow still on the ground and a heavy coat needed daily, thoughts of Spring are inching their way into our lives. Here at J. Seitz we love unpacking the Spring arrivals so we thought we'd give you updates on some of the great things arriving that are cheering up our late winter days.
Amanda's favorite, James Perse, arrived this week. We all know that Amanda loves California dreaming so it was especially apt that she did the unpacking for this great line.
James Perse has a special connection for us. Although California born, his childhood was split between Los Angeles' beach, his father's innovative boutique, Maxfield, and our own Gunnery in Washington , Connecticut. (Amanda's alma mater,...
